Heather + Michael: An Intimate Garden Wedding At The Roosevelt Inn, Coeur d'Alene Idaho

Heather and Michael are different. But in a super good way. When I met Michael for the first time, he said "I don't like to have a smart phone. I like to interact with people." I love this so much. Their unplugged mentality extends to a lot of their life together, and that includes time with their dogs hiking. I still keep up with them on Facebook and Instagram and I love to watch their adventures together. They are a real-world couple and they do not waste their time. They share, but they don't compare. Life is such a gift, and these two are a great example of making excellent choices!

Speaking of excellent choices, Heather and Michael were married at the Roosevelt Inn. It is a bed and breakfast that is beautiful and historic. It used to be a school. And it is the perfect setting for the intimate garden wedding that Michael and Heather chose.

Michael and Heather, like many of my couples, chose to do a first look. This means they do a private reveal before the wedding, and then usually use the time to do portraits together. It is fantastic, and based on the many weddings I have photographed that have chosen this, does not take away from the moment when the bride walks down the aisle. In fact, I think it becomes even more real and emotional at that point. I love first looks!

The Roosevelt has these cool string lights in one section of their sprawling property, and it is so gorgeous. It makes you feel just a little bit of magic.

Just an aside...Heather chose EcoFlowers as part of her bouquet. The cool thing is they are made of wood so they don't cause waste, and you can keep them forever and use them as part of your decor!

The garden was shady and cool on a hot and smoky summer afternoon. It was really refreshing. So gorgeous...I can't get enough green! :)
